There are three options for granting member access to your website.

Note: If you are on a newer version of VedaCMS (v9 or later), you do not need to create a member account for yourself. Instead, you can login to the member areas of your site with the email and password associated with your VedaCMS admin account.

Option #1: Manually Add Members

This is done within the 'Members' area of VedaCMS by clicking the 'Add Member' link at the top of the page.  As of VedaCMS v9.2, members have their own password as opposed to using a universal password set for everyone. After adding the member, a password is automatically generated and emailed to them.

Option #2: Use Built-In Member Request Form

If this feature is enabled in the 'Settings > Member Settings' area of VedaCMS, visitors can request member access using a form on your website. This request form is accessed by clicking the 'Request Access' link from the member login window.

New member requests get queued in the 'Pending' members area unless the Auto-Approval Code was used (see option #3). The system will notify you when a new member request has been made.  To approve or deny these requests, login to VedaCMS and click the 'Pending' button in the Members area. Approve or deny pending memberships by clicking the 'Pending' button. Once approved, a password will be automatically generated and the system will email their login details.

Option #3: Activate Auto-Approval Code

You can set a special 'Auto-Approve Code' that will grant instant membership to whomever you give this code to. To use this code, they still need to fill out your Member Request form as described in Option #2, but will put that code in the special 'Invitation Code' field on that form.  Once submitted, they are immediately approved and sent their login. You will also receive an email each time the auto-approve code is used.
